One of the bad things I have built up over the years (I fail to agree that I was born with it, for that matter I believe I was born with nothing) is this stubbornness of not giving up, particularly hope. It is good to have faith and be hopeful, but this is different. Being in a state of denial, not accepting the truth and hoping for something "amazing" isn't too bright, either.
As a good friend said, "life is only as dramatic as we make it", I might need to think about what I need, and work on separating it from what I want.
